A beautiful life, starts with a beautiful mind.
I've always been someone who reflects deeply, who feels deeply. Lately, though, I've been refining something even more important: my ability to simply witness life's moments as they unfold. To notice the beauty, the bittersweetness, and the quiet transitions that so often pass us by.
This month my youngest son turned 17 and got his driver's licence. As I watched him drive away on his own, tasting his newfound freedom, I quietly shed tears of both joy and grief.
In that moment, I realised I was stepping through the doorway into my next season.
The years of actively raising young children are behind me, and I find myself entering the second half of my life—a threshold that feels both tender and expansive.
This wasn't just a milestone for my son. It was one for me too.
This season is asking a different question. Not, Who do I need to be for everyone else? but Who am I becoming?
One truth I have learnt through my early mothering and years in clinical practice is the way I invest in myself shapes the way I show up for others.
I've come to realise that this isn't just about rest or self-care. It's about staying curious. Continuing to learn. Allowing myself to evolve.
The experiences that have impacted me most weren't the ones that simply added more knowledge. They were the ones that invited me to slow down, explore, ask better questions, witness, and trust myself more deeply.
Every day I'm reminded that families aren't looking for someone who has all the answers. They need someone who can sit alongside them with presence, compassion and confidence—someone willing to navigate complexity without rushing to certainty.
Perhaps that's the invitation of this next chapter of life.
Not to accumulate more titles or achievements, but to keep becoming. To honour the woman behind the roles. To choose experiences that expand me, elevate my energy, and remind me what it feels like to be fully alive.
Immersing myself in Sri Lanka for a week of Tantra Hatha Yoga and meditation.A journey of expanding my self-awareness, exploring realms beyond modern science, and reconnecting with the parts of myself that are steady, grounded, and unshakeable. These are the experiences that remind me there is always more to discover—not only about the world, but about who we are within it.Yes, I am a mother, a wife, and a midwife with responsibilities. But this is my first life too, and I’m committed to living it the best way I know how.
A beautiful life starts with a beautiful mind. I choose not to wait for “one day” to become the person I want to be, visit the places I have dreamed about, or create a life that lights me up.
I choose joy now. I choose growth now. I am allowed to choose myself now as well.
A happy human elevates the frequency of everyone around them. ✨
We are that—the soul, not the titles.
