Across ancient cultures, the cosmos was never seen as separate from everyday life. The stars, mountains, rivers, seasons, and animals were woven into a living relationship with the people who walked the Earth. Within the ancient Inca civilization, this connection to the cosmos formed the foundation of how they understood life, spirit, community, and belonging.

I am continually drawn to the wisdom of traditions that honour the sacred interconnectedness of all things. Inca cosmology has shaped me and my business and offers a beautiful reminder that we are not isolated beings moving through life alone, but threads woven into something far greater — a living tapestry of Earth, ancestry, spirit, and cosmos..

Have you ever found yourself in a place or in the presence of someone you have felt has permanently imprinted on you?  

Last year (2025), I embarked on a tour to Peru, to tick off a bucket list to visit Machu Picchu, a place that calls to many souls.... but this blog is not dedicated to my experience of this wonder of the world, there was another day, more humble that preceded this that had me musing in a little town called Pisca, in the Sacred Valley of Peru.

Confidence doesn’t arrive with a bold entrance, it builds quietly, as you learn on the job. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting that you can figure it out along the way, that you and your baby are a team!

Here is my advice for expectant and new mums feeling the shift.

Support people, don’t underestimate your importance during the birthing experience. This time in a woman’s life whether it is her first or third baby, is a complex mix of emotions—anticipation, excitement, reflection, vulnerability, uncertainty, hope, and deep longing.

Stepping into the role of birth partner or support person carries significant responsibility, is a position of great trust and should be viewed as a privilege.
